"Dolce Acoustic Art"

Degas_Dance_Class

Dolce Acoustics™ Art Panels combine noise control and art in public or privat rooms to reduce noise, improve the quality of sound and voice communications and improve or enhance the aesthetics to your satisfaction.

Remember us in your home and business.

The Panels are designed for fast easy installation by just hanging on a wall as HearClear™, our industrial, less expensive product. Both are offered in “green” versions using certified “green” recycled materials.

Standing waves, a common problem in public rooms, are caused by sound waves combining and increasing in intensity through repeated reflection from hard surfaces. “Noise soup”, a nasty combination of mid-range sounds, such as vowel sounds from human voices, mechanical sounds such as ventilation noise and machinery noise, is absorbed by the panels.

The attenuation of horizontal noise may permit the formation of strong vertical standing waves.  Our QuietZone™ ceiling panels help balance the sound in both vertical and horizontal directions.

At the same time, weaker sound waves in the range of voice consonants like “p” and “t” reflect off the back panel to enhance acoustic brightness and help discern and clarify voice and music sounds. The ambient noise, “noise soup”, is absorbed in the acoustic units. The perforated sides of the QuietZone™ panel absorb circulating sound on the face of the ceiling. This provides a win-win acoustic solution for voice clarity. Now with standing waves reduced in all directions, the “Noise soup” mostly absorbed and voice clarified, everyone can talk more softly

Therefore, for maximum acoustic efficiency, the designer can select panels from our group of interior products to adjust and balance absorbency, reflections and diffusion for a well-tuned and quiet room.

Argosy Acoustics has developed acoustic panels appropriate for use in controlling unwanted noise and reverberation in restaurants, coffee shops, hospitals and hallways.  The offending noise can be a combination of ventilation, machinery noise, alarms and even can be added background noise or conversations. This results in voice clarity problems. Vowel sounds from human voices mix with "noise soup" and obscure the consonant sounds which provide clarity. in speech. You hear but you often don't understand. Hard surfaces are great for cleaning and good looks but can cause reverberation.  QuietZone™ceiling panels can even help control diffraction from ceilings and floors, carts and things that just create noise.

These panels improve the overall quality of the sound in the spaces,  sound quality is further improved by the number of units and locations of the units. These can be interchanged with existing panels and can be tuned for certain frequencies to resolve noise or unwanted sound.

If it is outside noise entering the building, or background noise from alarms or emergency signals don't let them destroy the quality of life.  If used in a hospital it can be used in Nursing Stations or hallways. so let us show you how to solve these troubling problems.  These drop in units units are standard 23-1/2" X 23-1/2" size to drop into a standard grid, with the installing of an extra grid piece it allows two QuietZone™ panels, to be installed in a standard 23-1/2 X 47-1/2," drop ceiling grid.  With using standard out of the box panels and sizing it allows our system to improve on existing ceilings and not require customers to replace existing systems.  This makes it ideal for contractors experienced with drop ceiling installations to add our panels in locations to meet the QuietZone™ noise reduction needs of the location or application.

Dolce'Acoustic Wall Panels™ consist of flat backs with four vertical sides. Two or three acoustical units consisting of flanged perforated sheet metal, plastic or wood with a plurality of holes on the infill panels extending along each side depending on design and needs.  The acoustical units are filled with mineral wool blankets, which are hygroscopic and do not absorb liquids.

Common in most interior spaces, mid-range frequency sounds, such as vowel sounds produced by human voices, mechanical device noise such as ventilation noise, machinery noise, or even certain alarms are diffracted and absorbed in the acoustic units. Simultaneously, weaker high frequency waves reflect off the back panel to help produce acoustic brightness. These reflected waves are in the frequency range of voice consonants like “p” and “t”. This helps discern and clarify voice and music otherwise obscured by other noise. The “other noise” is reduced by the acoustic units. This is a win-win acoustic solution for voice clarity.

Standing waves, a common problem in rooms, and hallways are caused by waves combining and increasing in intensity through repeated reflection from hard surfaces, They are reduced or prevented by absorption with the Dolce' Acoustic™  panels.

The most common measurement system used for comparing absorption for these products is NRC numbers which by definition cannot exceed 1.00.  NRC, is simply a comparative measuring system and not valid for products exceeding absorption above that defined. Unfortunately, the actual absorbency of the Dolce Acoustics™  panel is exceed by an order of magnitude and absorbency as defined for the normal range of NRC numbers.

To solve this inconsistency in testing procedures, we have built our own test facility in Seattle, WA. This provides us data useful in making actual sound loss predictions using insertion loss techniques.  We will be testing the  Dolce Acoustic™ products in our new shop, where we can diagnose noise problems with recordings from anywhere in the world.

For maximum acoustic efficiency, the Dolce" Acoustic ™  panels allow the designer to adjust, balance absorbency, reflections and diffusion by panel selection. To prevent overpowering of horizontal noise these panels help balance the sound in horizontal directions

Our ceiling panels are available in a variety of custom colors.  They can be supplied as the high end Dolce Acoustic™ panels for walls in hospitals, waiting rooms, elecator alcoves or conversation areas in commercial applications.  Our over-counter, devices are also available to improve voice clarity where communication with customers, staff or patients is a problem.

Because often the reflected sound off the panel backs has a tendency to be too bright, we sometimes add art in the form of base relief or sculpture to the faces of our panels to “soften” the sound through diffusion.  Diffusion is the mixing of direction of the reflected sound.

High end Dolce' Acoustic™  panels for walls (certified and signed) and QuietZone™ for ceiling panels can be combined in a room to create a high-end and affordable sound ambiance, quiet and attractive
