Test Lab at Argosy Acoustics

With the Test Lab at Argosy Acoustics:  We have had many challenges relating to simulating the noise conditions where there was no direct answer to the problem.  Our new lab can insert varraions of noise and sounds to focus our endeavors and resolutions in a lab enviroment.

Our new dedicated acoustic test lab is in the middle of our facility facing a large overhead door while the Hemi-anechoic lab for testing interior products is on the opposite side.  This gives us the ability to test the componunts and use that data to predict the results when they are installed..

The Sound Lab Testing Facility, simulates these field conditions, in a lab setting, therefore allowing panels and arrays to be tested for specific applications before shipping or installing in the field. The test results show actual sound losses in accordance with insertion loss criteria, basically the checking of sound levels before and after insertion of the barrier or product; simple, efficient and accurate.

The sound is directed through the opening at the front of the Sound Lab while the test arrays are placed and the data is collected, just from these lab tests, in a “free field” area. For clean readings, special vanes and deflectors can be used to prevent undue diffraction or reverberation from occurring in way of the testing area.

 Equipment

A broad spectrum amplifier capable of reproducing field sound at various sound levels.

  • Dynamic Microphones-
  • Computer software to allow for recording data, post-reading analysis and creating of CDs.
  • A quality recording and playback device for accurate reproduction.

Let us help you with your challenges to make your area quieter and control the noise soup.
